The Apostle Paul envisioned a mission blueprint that was intricate yet profoundly harmonious: many gifts originate from one Holy Spirit, and diverse kinds of services are offered by the same Lord. God orchestrates various works in unity according to His will for the benefit of humanity. This vision is evident in our fourth season of service. Over the past three months, the Lord has enabled Praxis to connect various institutions and churches, both locally in Hong Kong and internationally. The synergy created through these collaborations affirms the truth of the scriptures: we are not alone; we are brothers and sisters in the body of Christ, working together to create goodness.

1. Innovative thinking meets mission blueprint

On October 10 and December 12, Praxis Church Network had the privilege of hosting Professor Erwin Huang and Dr. Ben Wong. They shared insights on artificial intelligence, community service, and the Church’s mission blueprint. The Church seeks to release resources to foster new opportunities and establish diverse faith communities beyond its walls. These two lectures inspired a wealth of new ideas, encouraging today’s parishes to engage meaningfully with the current generation.

3. When Praxis meets a BREAKTHROUGH

We work closely with BREAKTHROUGH. The Praxis outing in October took place at the Breakthrough Youth Village, where seniors radiated youthful energy, engaging in play, enjoying meals, and singing together. It was a joyful day for everyone involved. In November, staff and volunteers participated in the "Breakthrough Inner Challenge," which included a seven-kilometer hike. This experience encouraged us to reflect on the meaning of "caring for one another as we walk together in perseverance."  In December, BREAKTHROUGH arranged for several students from Shau Kei Wan East Government Secondary School to observe a day of our work, allowing them to learn more about Praxis and the community we serve.

    

4. When San Francisco meets Sendai City

In early November, Pastor Allen visited local Chinese churches in San Francisco, USA, alongside Global Trust Partners (GTP). He held two lectures entitled "Why Community Matters to Me?" to discuss how GTP supports church governance, policies, and structures, and to share the work of Praxis in the community. Later that month, Praxis, along with volunteer chefs from Blessed to Share1, traveled to Sendai City to prepare a feast for underprivileged individuals. During this trip, we had the opportunity to learn about the community services provided by Praise Community Church (PCC) and Operation Blessing Japan (OBJ), fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.

使徒保羅看見一幅不簡單的使命藍圖，就是眾多恩賜是源於一位聖靈，許多種事奉也是事奉同一位主。上主令不同的工作同步按祂的旨意成全，叫人得益處，這是我們在第四季服侍的看見。這三個月，上主讓油踐扣連不同機構及堂會，不論香港與海外，產生的協同效應見証著上述經文的實在，令我們不感到孤單，在基督身體互為手足，彼此協作，共創美善。

1. 當創新思維遇上使命藍圖

佐鄰油里教牧群組分別在10/10及12/12邀請到黃岳永教授及王緯彬博士分享人工智能與社區服侍，及教會使命藍圖——堂會釋放資源去締造更多可能性，在堂會以外建構不同類型的信仰群體。兩次講座也帶動不少新思維去刺激現今堂會如何回應這世代。

我們與突破機構合作無間。10月份的油踐大旅行在突破青年村舉行，長者們在那裏充滿青年的力量，玩得食得又唱得，大家享受美好的一天。11月同工及義工被邀請參加「突破逆旅先鋒」，挑戰七公里山路旅程，細味「在乎同行，在乎堅持」的意思。12月突破機構安排了幾位筲箕灣東官立中學的同學來體驗我們一天的工作，讓同學更多認識油踐與社區。

    

4. 當三蕃市遇上仙台市

11月初Allen Sir受邀隨Global Trust Partners（GTP）到美國三藩市探訪當地華人教會，並舉行了兩場「社區關我教會事」講座，分享GTP如何協助教會的治理及健康制度及架構外，也分享油踐在社區的工作。11月尾油踐與有福共享 的義廚們一起到仙台市製作盛宴款待當地基層人士，也認識Praise Community Church及Operation Blessing Japan的社區服侍，難得機會彼此認識及交流。

The words of wisdom shared by Pual the Apostle cannot be comprehended using worldly logic, as such profound wisdom comes from God and can only be made know to men through revelation by the Holy Spirit. Those things that can be understood through the Holy Spirit are spiritual things, and those who experience them are spiritual people. This summer, the Lord has given us many experiences, which we have reflected upon to find out the spiritual significance concerned. 

1. Witness the growth of life in the neighborhood

In July, the "Alpha Together in Community" continued every Thursday afternoon, thanks to the protection from our Heavenly Father throughout the windy and rainy season, both the course and the graduation ceremony completed successfully, and the joy of wearing the graduation gown was still vivid. Seeing life affirmed and established, we recognize that everyone is also God's masterpiece. The four churches will continue to walk with the neighbourhood.

In addition to the local church and different organizations, Praxis specially trained volunteers are also important members of the entire Praxis movement. Thankfully, we have fellowship time to share with each other this season, and Dr. Alex Ip came to share the lecture "The darker the times. The more you live a good life!" With the words from the Lord and the witness made, Dr. Ip has encouraged volunteers and pointed out that while the service of responding to the mission is difficult, being able to persist and be willing to innovate is the practice.

  

4. Shoulder the mission and become a part

In mid-September, we launched the "1 / PRAXIS" program to encourage more supporters who identify with the PRAXIS practice to participate in service, constant intercession, or regular giving. We will regularly announce the number of participants in the hope of building a community that agrees with the vision of PRAXIS. 七月份繼續逢周四下午的「同區齊啟發」，雖然經歷天氣不穩，在打風落雨的季節中經歷天父的保守，順利完成課程及畢業禮，大家穿上畢業袍的喜悅仍瀝瀝在目。看見生命被肯定及建立，認定大家也是上帝的傑作。四間堂會仍繼續與街坊同行。

As we enter the second half of Praxis’ fifth year, we reflect on the ministry between April and June. This year’s theme, “Planting Life,” reminds us—through the words of the apostle Peter—that in our journey of knowing Christ, we are not to become idle or unfruitful. What have we learned in the second quarter?

1. A Unique Neighborhood Bible Study Series

IIn the first quarter, our Bible study series, “The Final Week of Christ on Earth,” attracted over ten neighbors. Building on last year’s journey of understanding the meaning of Christmas through Scripture, we continued this season with activity-based explorations of Jesus’ passion and resurrection, and the lessons learned by those close to Him. On April 11 (afternoon), we were honored to have Pastor Shek share insights into Passion Week through classical art, helping participants understand the deep connection between Christ and us.

3. Faith in Action – Praxis Walkers

Congratulations to the five graduates of the 6th Cohort of Praxis Walkers! After three months of practical ministry and learning, a graduation ceremony was held on May 28 at Christ Centre Church (Jordan branch). Friends, pastors, and families joined to hear heartfelt sharing from the graduates and encouragement from co-workers. Graduates automatically become Praxis Agents (油踐特工) and will continue serving with us. We eagerly welcome this new team of dedicated volunteers.

4. Spiritual Renewal through Retreats

• June 13: Praxis Church network Retreat for pastors and ministry coworkers at Lok Ching Yuen, Sheung Shui. The theme was “Walking with the Lord: A Deeper Journey”, led by Ms. Sandy Lai. Both retreats allowed us to experience God’s work in shaping our lives.
  

正因這緣故，你們要分外地努力。有了信心，又要加上德行；有了德行，又要加上知識；有了知識，又要加上節制；有了節制，又要加上忍耐；有了忍耐，又要加上虔敬；有了虔敬，又要加上愛弟兄的心；有了愛弟兄的心，又要加上愛眾人的心。你們有了這幾樣，再繼續增長，就必使你們在認識我們的主耶穌基督上，不至於懶散和不結果子了。（彼後一5-8）

踏進油踐的第五年下半年，回望4-6月的事奉，想起今年的主題「栽種生命」，使徒彼得在他的書信中提醒我們在步步認識基督的過程，不至於懶散及不結果子。在第二季的事奉，我們有什麼學習？

1. 非一般的街坊查經班

今年第一季街坊查經系列「基督在世最後一周」，有十多位街坊參加。承接上年我們透過聖經認識聖誕節，上帝在不安的世代賜下真平安，今季我們繼續以活動形式探索耶穌受難至復活，和衪親近的人所經歷的功課。也邀請到石佩蘭傳道11/4下午以藝術角度去分享受苦節的名畫。讓參加者更深入認識基督與我們的關係。

3. 踐信於行的油踐行者

恭喜五位第六屆油踐行者畢業學員，大家完成三個多月的事奉體驗及學習，在28/5我們在基督中心堂佐敦堂舉辦了畢業禮，邀請學員的親友牧者蒞臨，聆聽學員的分享及同工的鼓勵。畢業同學會自動成為油踐特工，繼續參與服侍。我們期待這批新力軍加入。

4. 生命重整的退修日營

本季舉可行了兩次退修日營：1/5的油踐特工退修營，第二年在宣道會青霖堂舉行，今次退修主題：「栽種生命」以「默望生長及經驗陶造」讓義工們反思自己的成長及被塑造。13/6的「佐鄰油里」的教牧及同工退修日營，在上水樂靜院舉行，主題「與主同行．更深一層」，邀請了賴玉芬老師來主領。兩次退修也讓我們經驗上主在建立我們的生命。

5. 走入現場的服侍體驗

除了差不多每周也有的服侍體驗安排，由五月開始，也是為不同機構及教會安排實習體驗的季節。有宣道會北角堂的職青團、突破機構的「試習計劃」學員、播道神學院的「行在社區的福音」實習同學。此外，油踐團契於29/6也到訪基督教關懷無家者的「有家」，有交流及學習。

6. 展現合一的同區齊啟發

Fourteen Days of Praxis Retreat

In the past, when the Israelites faced the opportunity to enter Canaan, they sent twelve spies to observe and report on the Promised Land, assessing whether it was the right time to advance. Today, we are also in a period of evaluation. As community services return to normal after the pandemic, our coworkers and executive committee members need to discern the vision and direction of Praxis, to avoid falling into the trap of "busyness, forgetful, and lost." We have decided to set aside fourteen days around the Lunar New Year to pause our services and arrange seven gatherings to review, discuss, reflect, pray, and set the direction for the future. We pause in order to go further.

Serving Together and Building Connections

Walking Together Through Life’s Journey

The spies reported that the land was indeed flowing with milk and honey, but it also had great enemies. Should we still go? Ministry always comes with challenges and crises. Among the neighbours we serve, as they age and experience changes in their physical condition, some have lost contact, moved into nursing homes, suffered from terminal illnesses, or even passed away. Through material distribution, we maintain regular contact with elderly friends, gradually building relationships akin to family. If one get sick or another has an accident on the street, volunteers immediately show concern, arrange visits, and offer prayers. Serving "the least of these brothers and sisters" fosters a close, family-like neighbourhood connection. In an aging community, this helps prevent loneliness among the elderly. This is the challenge that Praxis is currently facing and a deeper issue we are discovering in our community.

Responding to the Vision and Moving Forward

During these fourteen days of retreat, we spent time revisiting the vision and direction of Praxis. We recognize that sharing a vision is essential—not as an individual revelation or a democratic majority decision, but as a process of returning to God’s word to explore our path forward. We reviewed our operational principles and the guidelines for serving our neighbors. Reflecting on Caleb and Joshua's experience in entering Canaan, we saw how they faced opposition yet firmly held onto God's promises. This steadfastness in pursuing the right course, despite differing opinions, is an essential lesson in communal discernment. 昔日以色列人面對進入迦南的機會，差派十二探子進去觀察及報告應許之地的所見所聞，檢視這是否前進得地的好時機。今日我們也在檢視。疫情後的社區服務也普遍回復正常，同工及決策組成員需要空間去辨識油踐的異象方向，免得陷入「忙、忘、亡」的迷失狀態。我們決意在農曆新年的前後，騰出十四天停了服侍並安排七個同聚會去檢視、交流討論，閱讀思考．祈禱辨識及訂下未來方向。停下來，為要走更遠的路。

探子回報那地確是流奶與蜜之地，但當中有巨大的敵人，我們還要去嗎?  事奉中總有危機與挑戰。我們所照顧的街坊當中，隨著年齡及身體狀態的變化，有些已經失去聯絡，也有遷入護老院舍、長期住院，身患絕症甚至離開世界。透過物資分享可定期與這班老友記見面，點滴關心漸建立如親人般的關係；這個身體不適，那個街上跌倒，每個街坊的消息也有義工在掛心，迅速安排探訪及代禱記念。服侍弟兄中最小的一個，可以是締造如親人般的鄰舍關係，在人口老化的社區中，讓更多長者不覺得孤單。這也是今日油踐正面對的挑戰，也是由淺入深地發現社區的其中一個問題。

4. 回應異象邁向前

在休整十四天當中，我們花了一些時間去重溫油踐的異象與方向。體會同領異象的重要，不是一個人的領受，也不是少數服從多數的民主決議方式，乃是重回上帝的話為基礎去探索要走的方向，檢視事工運作的規則及接侍街坊的原則，回想迦勒與約書亞在進入迦南前面對不同觀點的衝掔，仍捉緊耶和華的應許。這種獨排眾議，擇善固執的堅持，是群體辨識中的重要功課。請繼續以禱告記念，以行動參與，以奉獻支持，成為油踐一份子。
