The Lord Jesus prayed for those who believed in Him through the words of the Apostles, who were the churches of all ages until His return, praying for the unity of believers, and He was referring to the Catholic Church. Praxis is not only an organization that shares materials with the neighborhood, but also a movement of unity promoted by connecting different denominational churches in the area. This movement is not one for the sake of "unity", but to bear witness to Christ through unity of service. Come and take a look at the interchurch collaboration ministry in the first quarter of this year.
1. Four lessons on Praxis (油踐四堂課) – Ho Man Tin District
The first pilot is in Ho Man Tin District, the curriculum is not designed for one church, but at least four churches in the same district, and 4-6 members will be sent to participate in each class, the content is to understand the vision, philosophy and core values of Praxis, and promote the possibility of church collaboration. In the first quarter of 2026, from 17/1 to 21/3, seven churches from Ho Man Tin and Tsim Sha Tsui were connected [1]. During these three months, this platform is set for the churches to see each other, build each other, and let the residents experience the testimony of unity in the area.
2. Lecture in January
"Praxis Church Network" (佐鄰油里) is a network of pastors in Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui, Prince Edward and Tai Kok Tsui, encouraging learning to understand the community and respond to their needs. On 30/1, Brother Anton WAN, Director Secretary of Family Value Foundation of Hong Kong, was invited to share the pastoral challenges of the new generation of fathers. This topic has aroused the response of pastors from different churches, prompting them to think about opening up space for cooperation to pastor church members and aiming care for fathers in the community in the future.
3. The 7th Anniversary of Praxis Walkers
Over the years, Praxis held volunteer training program “Praxis Walkers” for believers from different churches. “Praxis Walkers” graduates can join the volunteer team of Praxis or return to their own churches to mobilize continuous care for their community. Thanks to the Lord, 15 brothers and sisters signed up this year. This year’s program was launched on 28/2, they began to receive a series of training and participate in different gatherings.
4. Bible Study in the Same District
Following last year's "Alpha in the District" (同區齊啟發) and continued to talk about faith with the "Kai Fong", the four churches in the district [2] once again cooperated to launch the "Bible Study in the District". This issue continues to study the journey of King David in a lively way, and the theme song has been changed from the pop song "Walking on the Road of Life" to "Many Steps with the Lord". Two Bible studies on 27/2 and 13/3 have been conducted. Two more in April.
5. Unity Among District Churches
In densely populated Hong Kong, there are more than 1,300 churches shepherding more than 200,000 believers. Churches in the same district are very close to one another, yet each is busy and there is little room for collaboration. Praxis connects churches in the same district through community service to become “one,” so that the body of Christ is displayed in the community as a witness of unity, allowing more “Kai Fong” to see it.
